The Vestrup residence lies on a .22 acre perimeter lot in the Rafter J subdivision in Jackson, Wyoming, with clear views of the Teton range to the west and northwest, and the Gill Cattle Ranch to the west. The client, a classical pianist, needed a space for his grand piano: Chris Moulder used this detail as a focal point for the house by placing it at the end of the linear plan where the location and geometry draw the eye immediately through the space
The first floor living area includes the open music room, living and dining areas, the kitchen, a study, a powder room, and two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Finishes are clean and contemporary: the white walls keep the spaces light and airy while the dark wood floors impart richness. High windows provide natural light and views, but also privacy in the two-room master bath. A deck for relaxation is accessed from the master bedroom, with commanding views of the mountain range to the west.
