MURPHY-GOLDSTEIN RESIDENCE

A creative, dynamic floor plan for a small space

King Eider, Jackson, Wyoming  •  1,300 sq. ft.

Design Team: Chris Moulder, AIA; Ben Weisbeck

After living in a very small “affordable” town home, the couple seeked our services with hopes of expanding into a larger more efficient home which could fit within their budget and expectation. They selected a corner lot in the King Eider development that was the most economical, and was comparatively small but larger than where they previously lived.

The home has a dynamic angled front entry porch that leads the visitor straight back to the other end of the house, past the kitchen and dining room directly to the living room with a shot gun approach. The master bedroom suite, off of the dining room, has a covered porch with views of the mountain range to the north. There is a second bedroom on the first floor with a bathroom that serves as a powder room, a laundry, pantry, and a mudroom. The upstairs was always considered to be a bonus area housing a dormitory style bedroom, bathroom and loft area.
