GREEN MEADOW RESIDENCE
Teton County, Wyoming • 4,300 sq. ft.
Design Team: Kurt Dubbe AIA, Bryan Gleason, Nereida Ortiz
The residence is located in the Green Meadows subdivision of Teton County, Wyoming. The setting allows family members to have their privacy and also take advantage of the vast, panoramic views of the Teton mountain range to the west, and views of Sleeping Indian and the Gros Ventre mountain range to the east.
The owners are from Houston Texas but were raised with deep Wyoming roots. The family had a thriving business in Casper and would visit to Tetons regularly, years later purchasing property in Jackson, Wyoming. When the time came for the family to build a mountain residence, there was no hesitation it would be among the Teton Mountain range.
Exterior materials, commonly found in the Jackson Hole area, such as horizontal timber, plank siding and native stone give this house a western appearance with a contemporary twist. The living, dining room and kitchen boast high ceilings and an open floor plan with large window framing commanding views of the Tetons. Design principal, Kurt Dubbe, aimed to create different panoramic view experiences in every room of the house. The master bedroom and bathroom are located on the west wing of the first floor and three more bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the second floor, and all include an office area with a work desk. Deep porches in a large outdoor living deck were designed to accommodate family and entertain guests while enjoying picturesque views. The yard was landscaped to create a variety of private outdoor living areas.
Heavily textured native stone and wood treatments utilized on the outside of the structure where carefully brought into the home. Those rough materials were balanced with lightly textured walls that provided the opportunity for the owners to display their collection of artwork and beautiful rugs. The clients’ wonderful sense of furnishings completed the entire home.
